I am hoping as well. With it being more of a photography company it should be.
The other one was a chance, and OK - it bit me, but it was a good deal to try, and I knew the company I bought it from was decent enough not to stick me with it if it bombed (which it did.)
The only reason I didn't go for this one or the Fujifilm camera they have that is pretty much equivalent was the price on the other one. But hell - hopefully I can have some shots of the collection additions from *** first of the year up and showing to you all by the weekend.

Did you charge that one to your credit card, getting credit for the other one when they get it?
I just went for an exchange but they haven't got it yet.

Yo may want to call Tiger Direct and ask then about it as they didn't seem to have any in stock when we called and entertained the "replacement" theory.
This one was put on the card as a hold. I have 10 days to get the other one back to them and they will only charge me the difference minus a few consessions my wife worked out with them (it is wonderful having her around - the accent adds so much credibility to doing things by the seat of your pants).
Once they get the Vivitar back, they will deduct the fees from the hold and charge the rest.
I am sorry you got bit as well on it Andyman.

Yeah, I'm about to call them and ask for another camera. I'm gonna have to look for something that uses the flashcard I got with the Vivatar (or else return that too!) What did you think of the Kodak camera in that price range? I noticed it uses a singular lithium battery.

My father has one of the Kodaks in that range, and he loved it. The pictures that he has sent are really good in the color reproduction and skin tones are just a little warm in color.
I had thought about that one as well, it just didn't have the range of the ISO sensitivity I wanted for what I am going to do. I don't have a lot of light in some rooms, and wanted to be able to boost the sensitivity up as needed. I think that one had a standard 100 ISO eqivalent.
But getting back to the quality of the camera, if a Kodak had the features that I wanted, I wouldn't have hesitated. The Kodaks available just didn't meet my personal criteria this time.

Well I just called and they got my camera back. I've got a few days to pick out another camera or else they'll send me the same model.
I'm looking at this one right now.

3.24 MP 6x optical zoom on sale for $239.99. Best Buy has it for $279.99. I like the view thru the lens feature like my Canon SLR.

We almost went for that one as well - once we figured out how much we would truely use a digital camera, we didn't have a problem with the money.
The only downside i found with that model was the fixed ISO 100 eqivalanet sensitivity. Would have been too slow for most of the pictures I want to take (figure documentation)

That's what tripods and flashes are for.
I notice that Olympus only takes 2 batteries. Is it easier on batteries?

Yeah - yeah - tripod and flashes. I know, I know. Still not enough for what I wanted.
From www.dpreview.com - the one I ordered seems to eat batteries as much as any other camera, especially if you leave the LCD screen on all the time.
The numbers I saw off a good set of Alkalines were 100 hours of use with LCD, more than double if you don't leave it on all the time. NiMH are recommend, but not required.

Hmmmm...the Olympus has a macro range of 2cm whilst the Fuji only goes to 10cm. They may be a factor against the Fuji camera.
